A striking example of late 20th-century Italian modernism, this exceptional dining set—designed by Pietro Costantini and Vittorio Introini for Cidue in 1979—embodies the bold architectural language and refined material sensibility of its era.
The ensemble features a sculptural oval dining table with a smoked glass top, poised on a polished metal base that lends both visual lightness and structural elegance. Surrounding it are ten high-back dining chairs, their dramatic vertical slats and elongated silhouettes creating a rhythmic interplay of line and shadow. Finished in deep black with upholstered seats, the chairs balance graphic austerity with comfort, offering a compelling contrast to the reflective surface of the table.
Highly representative of Italian postmodern design, this set captures the transition from strict modernism to a more expressive, statement-driven aesthetic. The strong geometric forms and luxurious materials make it as much a functional dining suite as a collectible design piece.
Ideal for a refined interior, this rare and complete 10-seat set is a testament to Cidue’s forward-thinking craftsmanship and the visionary collaboration between Costantini and Introini. A true centerpiece for any serious collector of Italian design.
