Beautifully chic Original Artists proof Etching called ‘The Bad Tempered Sparrow’ by British Artist Julian Williams, Signed, Numbered & Dated 1982 in. MOMA Neilson Chrome Frame.
An icon of the late post impressionist British Artistic movement during the late 70s and early 80s Julian Williams started his art career crafting stunningly crisp etchings and selling them at Covent Garden market. His etching became famous as their reach grew and by the end of 1990 his first piece sold in Japan for over £4,000 and his etchings were fetching £400+.
This specific piece is part of William’s most iconic work and sits alongside some of his other most revered such as ‘Jocasta’ and ‘The Two Herons’. It depicts a Sparrow angry with his fellow birds, his sweet little stance is endearing and makes this piece magnetic. The finish on the etching is incredibly crisp, something William’s is renown for and the detail from the birds feet to his expression is amazing.
A wonderful example of late Post impressionist work by one of the pioneers of the British Artistic movement. Beautifully framed, signed, numbered & dated.
