This striking original vintage screen print by Jan Pienkowski, dating to circa 1961, is a vivid example of early Pop Art sensibility applied to botanical form. The composition features a bold nasturtium flower rendered in intense orange tones, dramatically set against a deep blue ground. The simplified shapes, high-contrast palette, and graphic impact are characteristic of early 1960s screen printing, capturing both immediacy and elegance.
The work is an authentic original screen print from 1961, published by the renowned London-based publishing gallery GALLERY FIVE. It is signed by the publisher and accompanied by their artist provenance, confirming its originality and period authenticity.
Presented in a sleek black frame, the print is ready to display and retains a strong visual presence that bridges fine art and design history. As an early work by Pienkowski—who later became widely celebrated for his illustration and graphic work—this piece represents a rare and collectible example of his formative output.
An excellent acquisition for collectors of vintage Pop Art, mid-century British printmaking, or original 1960s screen prints, this work stands as both a decorative statement and a historically significant artwork.
